Born in Surabaya in 1970. 

Rev. Billy Kristanto has served in the churchly music field since he was still in sunday school. 

After graduating high school, he continued to study music majoring in Cembalo in Berlin (UDK) under Mitzi Meyerson. In 1996, he continued with a post graduate study in Den Haag in the Royal Conservatory under Ton Koopman. Other than that, he also studied fortepiano under Stanley Hoogland. He graduated in 2002 from STTRII with a Master of Christian Studies degree. 

In 2005 he was ordained as a pastor in the synod of GRII and is currently shepherding the MRII and PRII in Europe. In 2009 and 2010 he finished his doctorate study with the title of Dr. phil. Musicology and Dr. theol. from Ruprecht Karls Universität Heidelberg.

First came to GRII in 2003 while taking his Design Bachelor’s Degree at UPH Karawaci. From then on, with the growing urge and calling to serve God as His servant, he continued to serve in youth ministry of GRII Karawaci up until 2012 when he entered STTRII Jakarta. He received his Master of Theology in 2015, and has since served as an assistant pastor; from 2015-2018 in GRII Bintaro, and in 2018-2021 in both GRII Solo and GRII Yogyakarta. At the moment, he is continuing his doctoral study in Theologische Universiteit Apeldoorn, Netherlands.
